OUR WORK

JACOV P. DULCICH & SONS

Jakov P. Dulcich & Sons has been a client since 1996. A leading producer of table grapes, they had a need for (4) storage rooms and (1) shipping room capable of holding 500k boxes of product at 32º with 90-95% humidity.

For this we installed a new mechanical compressor/condenser room with the latest in computer controlled technology so that personnel could access critical information regarding their system from their cell phone or laptop while off-site.

IRSCO also installed our aluminum evaporators with all stainless steel piping inside the storage rooms to prevent deterioration and for ease of maintenance.

Included with these rooms were Ductsox on each fan for a more even air distribution and better product quality.

HRONIS, INC.

Hronis, Inc. – a valued customer since 1981 – grows, stores and distributes table grapes and navel oranges. They had a need for long-term storage, maintaining a temperature of 32°F or higher with high humidity to keep their produce fresh. We designed a flooded ammonia system capable of storing up to 260,000 boxes of produce per room at 32°F with 90-95% RH (relative humidity) for several weeks. We also designed and installed our aluminum evaporators with stainless steel piping for ease of maintenance and reliability. We added a Mycom reciprocating compressor to complement the two previously installed FES/GEA screw compressors in the system.

SUN SELECT

Sun Select Produce Inc. grows, packs and ships numerous variets of tomatoes and peppers. With the construction of their new facility in Tehachapi, they had a need for cooling their 20,000 sq. ft. packing facility and 10,000 sq. ft. storage/shipping room. With the packing room full of up to 200 employees, we designed and installed a glycol chilled system, both for employee and food safety concerns. The glycol is chilled by a 2,880,000 BTU Ammonia heat exchanger, housed in a separate mechanical room and pumped by a VFD controlled pump to the units in both the packing and storage rooms. With Tehachapi’s winter climate at 4,000 ft. above sea level, we also installed 400,000 BTU gas furnaces in the packing room and humidifiers/humidity controls in the storage room.
